HAM142

Site No: HAM142

Site Name: Holigost

Period: Mid 15th Century

Site type: Hulk

Description: Adjacent to the site of the Grace Dieu lies the very possible remains of the Holigost, another 15th century ship that was recorded as being moored at the site, and also is known to have sunk whilst moored after which the iron and timbers were salvaged from it, this means that only the lower hull timbers probably survive in the Hamble. Detailed work was carried out on the site by Hanna Steyne of Southampton University for her MA in Maritime Archaeology research.
