Day Three of Diving on Bouldnor Cliff  ...................

Today's diving involved survey and excavation, including the discovery of a fascinating new timber!

All today's diving was focused on Bouldnor Cliff, this included digging, recording and recovering exciting finds! Of particular interest was a piece of wood which may have been worked by human hands. The location of Bouldnor Cliff off the Isle of Wight:

Nigel Nayling said "It's not like working in a laboratory, sorting out natural trees from remains of human activity while diving is a difficult business, hopefully we can find out more when the samples we've taken can be examined at a later date."

The dive team worked hard to record the site including planning, excavating and videoing the activity resulting in an invaluable archive that will help illuminate our knowledge of the southern British Mesolithic.
