The workshops are now booked out-but if you are interested to attend next year, or want more information about how to get involved please contact: christin.heamagi@hwtma.org.uk
The next upcoming event will be an exiting "Speed Dating" event for Educators and Heritage Professionals. The focus will on the sharing of ideas, meeting people to collaborate with, and maintaining and developing links. The event will take place in Southampton later this year.Â
The Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology are delighted to announce that we have received funding from English Heritage through the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund to run a free Maritime Archaeology Access and Learning Workshops in May 2009. The workshop introduces the subject of Maritime Archaeology which, for most participants, will be an unfamiliar field.
The workshop will run at Fairthorne Manor in Southampton 12-13 May, free of charge, including accommodation and lunch, and will encourage the sharing of ideas and best practice in events and activity planning with focus on maritime archaeology and education and outreach. The residential aspect will encourage networking and will hopefully help to spark some exciting new outreach projects.
The workshop is open to everyone and we would suggest the following people might find them useful:
Education Officers in archaeological organisations
Education Officers in museums
Teachers Home educators
