Children in Southampton diving into archaeology!

On Monday 17th January Busy Bees children’s book club, four Southampton libraries and HWTMA will be running a joint event for Southampton children.

The focus of the session will be two children’s books about shipwrecks, adventure and the underwater world.

The Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology promotes interest, research and knowledge of maritime archaeology and heritage and is also a local publisher of children’s books, activity books and local history books.

Children aged between 8 and 11 will be coming from all over the city to enjoy the beautifully illustrated, fun and informative books whilst also having the opportunity to handle real archaeological artefacts, some of which are thousands of years old!

The event will take place at Southampton Central Library on 17th January at 4.30pm in the children’s section of the library.
