Community Involvement
Volunteers working on the Forton Lake Community Archaeology Project
The support of local groups and organisations is vital for the project. The active involvement of local people in all aspects of the project will be encouraged. Volunteer help with recording, research and monitoring will include hands-on opportunities. It is hoped that increasing local awareness through participation will foster a sense of ownership of the heritage and will ultimately have a positive effect on the long term conservation of Forton Lake and the maritime historic environment.
